Growing for a Cause: Let's all pitch in and provide healthy food for a healthy community!

Growing for a Cause

Become a part of the inaugural season of “Growing for a cause”. We are looking for farmers and gardeners who are willing to donate their time and garden or field space to grow vegetables for the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank. We will provide seeds, transplants, compost, black plastic and training by Farmer Doug and Bob Olen on how to grow broccoli, cabbage, carrots, cucumbers and green beans. Your efforts will go a long way to help Second Harvest feed the less fortunate in the Northland.

We also are looking for landless farmers to partner with landowners who need help. Training sessions begin in early May. Contact Farmer Doug at 218 721-2011 for more information.
